Is it possible to use a speedometer / speed shaft?

Mechanical speedometer

If the vehicle is equipped with a mechanical speedometer and a motoscope is going to be used, our supplied speed sensor must be used!

We also offer a speed sensor for older air-cooled BMW Boxer models. This is mounted directly on the gearbox output. https://www.motogadget.com/shop/en/speedosensor-bmw-gearbox.html

mechanical speed shaft

If the vehicle is equipped with a mechanical speedometer shaft and a motoscope is to be used, our supplied speed sensor usually can be used.
We also offer a speed sensor for older air-cooled BMW Boxer models, which is mounted at the gearbox output. This can be found in our store under the article number: 9007033.

If the vehicle is equipped with a mechanical speed shaft and a motoscope is to be used, the speed signal can often be taken directly from the ignition coil in case of transistorized ignition.
In case of capacitor ignition, an ignition signal pickup is required. To be found in our store under the article number: 9000001.
This is attached with cable ties directly to the ignition cable of the motorcycle.
