motoscope - Speed TEACH

If an existing, original speed sensor is used which is installed on the engine or gearbox, it can only be calibrated using the TEACH function. For this purpose, the motoscope must receive pulses from the speed sensor. Before teach-in, make sure that the speed sensor is compatible with the motoscope. If the motoscope with the connected sensor always shows a speed when the motorcycle is moving, the signal seems to be compatible.
If this is not the case, please read on in the article "motoscope - Connecting speed sensor" linked below.

To teach the speed, the speedometer sensor must be connected to the motoscope and compatible. It is recommended to either leave the old speedometer connected, use a smartphone and an app that displays the speed or an accompanying vehicle that controls the speed.

  • Open the setup of the motoscope
  • Navigate to TEACH (varies between the motoscope, see instructions)
  • Drive at a constant speed of 50 Km/h or 31 mph

Hold menu button for 2 seconds
The TEACH process should now start and takes about 5 seconds.

Problems:
After the teach-in a wrong speed is displayed:

  • Repeat the teach-in process

Teach-in process does not start:

  • Check if sensor is compatible
  • Check cabling / wiring
  • Check input signal of the motoscope ( positive or ground active )

Attention, motoscope classic may not be compatible with original sensors at the gearbox output. (Harley Davidson)
