Here, a maximum distance of 4 mm between sensor tip and magnet should not be exceeded. In addition to this, the magnet and sensor should be aligned at right angles and in a line. --> If the components are correctly positioned, you can disconnect the sensor from the instrument
Set the multimeter to continuity test and hold both wires of the sensor to the measuring tips. Now hold a magnet in front of the sensor tip. --> The multimeter should now indicate continuity (resistance towards zero).
Then carry out the counter test and check the continuity without the magnet. --> No continuity should be indicated here (resistance towards infinity).
