mo.unit blue / basic - does not work

If one or more LEDs light up only briefly after connecting to the battery, the mo.unit appears to be defective.

Cause of failure:

  • Overvoltage in the vehicle electrical system

A defective charge controller or a short circuit can cause voltage peaks which can damage the mo.unit. In this case a fuse is of limited use, as it only trigger at a certain current.

Test:

  • Connect the mo.unit to battery and ground
  • Apply +12V to input LOCK

The mo.unit should now switch on the ignition (Ignition output).

In case of a defect, the motogadget support team should be contacted for further steps.
